Pivot bar is too short and shoe won't accept tool

Handy Person from Lynchburg, VA

I purchased 15-118 to replace the pictured pivot shoes. The new pivot shoe will not allow me to hook the spring tip without modificatio. The pivot bar when I have to replace two of them, will allow my window to slide out of one or the other of the pivot shoes . I am using a 900 - 29 spiral balance with the red tip the pivot bar appears to be 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch short on the slotted end. All other dimensions does work with the window.

I am attaching a picture of each piece and hopefully you can help clear this up for me.

The pivot shoe I'm using the picture shows a blue Cam insert and the ones I have has a white Cam insert.

I feel like our 15-118 should have still worked. Your shoe's style is a little different but they still work by the same principle. Where exactly are you running into trouble? Do you have a charging tool like our 75-006? We find this makes it a lot easier to install the spiral balance into the shoe.

The other problem you mentioned sounds like the tip of the pivot bar slips out of the new pivot shoe. Does the sash allow you to slide the pivot bar closer to the pivot shoe? Some windows have a little play.
