Pivot shoe out of aluminum & different spring colors

(1) How does one get the pivot shoe out of aluminum frame & sash windows?

(2) My spring cap colors are Yellow and white & 25" long but yours are red, green and blue

Thanks for reaching out! To determine which spiral balances you have, you'll need to confirm the diameter of your metal tube. It should either be 3/8" (which would be the S900-25) or 5/8" (which would be the S600-25).

Since your tip color does not match, you'll need to obtain the exact weight of your window. Then you'll need to choose the appropriate tip color for your balances based on the weight range your sash weight falls between. Once you've determine the series, based on the diameter, you'll find the chart below the product description of the balance you need.

There are two different methods for removing the pivot shoes. There is the jamb spreader method or the cutout method. Take a look at the videos below for instructions.

Keep in mind, the cutout method may be the most feasible option.
