I am trying to determine which pivot shoes I should purchase. The dimensions are 9/16' thick and 2" high x 1 1/4" wide. The main window hardware I want to replace is 36" x 66", so it is pretty heavy, and has a 30" spiral balance with the blue tip. This is the first window to fail so I would like to go with the black tip 600 series balance to better support the window. I have others to repair but I am concentrating on this one first. I do have others to repair as well/
My question is 1. would there be nay problem going with the 600 series black tip spiral balance in this particular case? 2. Is the 15-154 as sturdy as 1 -121 and 3. does the 1/16" difference in height really make a difference in its performance?

Thanks for reaching out to us. If your shoe dimensions are accurate then you should consider our 15-121. I can't really tell you if the 15-154 is sturdier or not, that's not really how pivot shoes work. The 15-154 is an entirely different shoe used for a different applications. I don't think you want it here. If your spiral balance has a blue tip, stick with that. If you get a balance whose spring is too strong then you will struggle to close your window. It may even drift up on its own. |
