Pivotshoe for Don Young Window

Home Owner from Mesquite, TX

The pivotshoe we took pictures of with measurements is broken. It's missing a metal piece where the spiral balance attaches to the pivotshoe. The picture of the one installed should be good as it still has the metal part.

Could not find any name, numbers or markings on the pivotshoe, these are Don Young windows.

Need pivotshoe part number that can be used to replace these.

Thanks Terry

Hello, Terry. This is an older style pivot shoe is that is unfortunately not made anymore. The good news is that we might have a modern alternative. See our 15-173.

In terms of size, this looks like a great fit at 9/16" thick x 31/32" wide. We can safely garner that it will fit in the track the same way. However the major glaring difference is that the cam on yours is a much different style compared to ours, meaning that our part may not be compatible with your existing pivot bar.

Before we go any further, can you show me a photo of that pivot bar? That will allow me to determine whether it will work as-is or if you also need a new one to go with the new shoe.

Thank you for your patience. I think I can help with this. I believe you have an old discontinued Carefree window. With that in mind, I suggest using our 15-179 pivot shoe along with a 26-465 pivot bar (sold separately). You might be able to use your pivot bar with the new shoe, but you would need to file down the tip to fit into 15-179. If you're handy that may be an easier solution.
