can i get just the ends or do i have to buy whole mechanism?
if i can get just the piece, it appears to be riveted in, does the new piece just snap in or does it have to be riveted?

You can absolutely buy just the ends, sure. Your top fitting is our 19-002, while your bottom fitting is either the 15-001 or 15-002, depending on its depth. You should review our dimensions to confirm which one is best. The video below may also be helpful to you.
