This plastic piece covers the metal and also trims out around the window edges. We have multiple ones that have become brittle or broken completely.

Looks like you need new glazing bead. We should be able to help, but I cannot identify what you have from these photos. I'll need you to show us a clear picture of the end profile. That way we can see its shape, which is the most important detail.

Thanks! Reviewing this new photo, we believe you have the Milestone window that uses our 55-194 snap-in glazing. Please compare dimensions and let me know what you think.
