Please, help ID the right replacement for this channel balance.

I believe it comes from a Milgard non-tilting double-pane window.

The stamp on the balance says "26 4 HV CMC 7".

The length of the metal balance body excluding the plastic fittings is 27 inches.

Hey Ivan. This looks like either our S380-27 or S385-27. The only difference between these two balances is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe, or the 'heel-to-toe' measurement. See the diagram below for reference. In either case, for a stamp option choose 2640.

Hi Bob,

The old, and admittedly somewhat worn, plastic shoe on my windows measures 1 and 2/32 inches.

Does that make the S385-27 balance the right option for me? Or it there a chance that its extra 1/32 of an inch would make it a poor fit?

What's your recommendation?

It's very likely that your shoe was once 1-3/32" deep, but that some of it just wore down over the years from constant use. That's a very common circumstance and I think it's a fairly safe bet. With that in mind, I think the Series 385 would be a good option for you.
