Please help me find a replacement!

Quick Learner from Western Mass
Hi, I need to replace this. It has two arms, but I don't see anything on your site with two fixed arms. I can probably get by with one arm, but I sure could use your help!

The arms are just about 11" each.On the window, is a rod that round clips on the end of the arms attach to, so I assume I'll need a new track as well.

Please let me know what you think I should use. I'd like to keep the existing carpentry if at all possible.

Thank you,
Troy

Hey, Troy. It looks like you have an older style awning window operator. Take a look at our 39-390, along with the 39-286 handle. I believe this hardware could be the replacements you're looking for, though they may require some adaptation. I'm not sure; it's always hard to be sure with a window this old. What do you think?

It looks like that might so the trick. I'll give it a shot!

Hi,

I ordered 39-390 as suggested, but I still need your help. The rod that came with the new part is too long for my window. Does this mean I can't use the part altogether, or is there something else I could do?

My window is just about 29-1/2" across, and the usable portion of the existing rod is 26".

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Troy

I'm sorry for the trouble, Roy. Could you possibly cut the new rod? This hardware is the only possible replacement for an awning window as old as yours. Because of it's age I am not sure exactly what kind of adaptation will be necessary, but I do know it will likely not fit as it is out of the package. I wish we could offer an easier solution.
