PlyGem pivot shoe - broken cam

A handy person from West Bend, WI says:

Hello...

I have two PlyGem double-hung windows (installed around 2005) with a busted cam in the pivot shoe. I've watched a couple of your videos on replacing the pivot shoe, and unfortunately my windows do not have a cut-out in the track, and given the wood grain I'd prefer not to hack it up....would your channel spreaders work in this case?

Thanks,

Paul

Casey from SWISCO responded:

Hello,

We generally recommend the cutout method but our 75-069 jamb spreaders will do the job as well. Just keep in mind that they are non-refundable.

Once you are able to remove your hardware, compare the width and thickness of your pivot shoe to our 15-178 or 15-188. Thank you!
