Porch Window Crank

A home owner from Kennett Square PA says:
Hello, looking for this part

Markings are minimal except on the arms, the middle on has a 2 and the extender arm has both 78 and 0.

I measured how you folks have yours advertised, and the
arm is a 2 5/8"

lower screw spacing is 1 1/4

height of unit is 5 1/4

Thank you,

Jeff

Thanks for your patience during this busy season, Jeff. Before we recommend anything, can you show me a clear picture of the hole pattern in this operator? That would be a huge help, thank you.

A quick learner from Kennett sq pa says:
Hi Tom sorry for my late reply. Here are some shots.

Thank you

Thank you! Just what we needed to see. I haven't been able to find an exact match to your operator, but I'm reminded of our 39-025 and 39-026. Our dimensions and style also very similar to yours. Could you possibly use these as replacements?

A quick learner from Kennett sq pa says:
Thank you Tom, I be ordered a 39-025, to test it out. Is the difference in the two you posted just L/R hand orientation? I may need to replace several of these, thanks again for your suggestions and I?ll let you know.

Yep, the 39-025 and 39-026 are the same operator, just meant two different sides. Thank you very much for your order and please let us know if it works out!

A quick learner from Kennett sq pa says:

Hi Tom, I've just installed the operator. It closes, but doesn't seem to engage the hook, in fairness I don't remember if that aspect was working correctly or not. But thought you might have some thoughts.

Also the operators arm where I connect it to the window is a bit smaller than the area it's pulling with, and wonder if you have any thoughts on that.

The 1st picture is me pointing to the hook, and the 2nd two are showing the space inbetween the operator arm and the window arm.

Thank you again

Jeff

Hey, Jeff. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. That hook gets pushed up by the stud I see in the side window linkage. Then, when the window closes, the hook drops down and latches onto a pin on both sides of the window vent.

Check to see if the "stud" on the window vent is missing. Also maybe use some type of lubricant on the rivet that attaches the hook to the window. It could be that hook is not operating because it needs to be lubricated.

As for the screw being loose, take a look at the 33-206 shoulder washer. This should take up the space.

One other thought would be to remove the operator and manually open and close the window by hand. Maybe then you could see the problem with the locking hook.
