I am pretty good at researching parts but this is a real mind bender. Apparently, it attaches to the balance rod? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello,

I'm not sure if we carry an exact match for the part in your photo but it does remind me of the 26-396 pivot bar, which connects the bottom corners of the window sash to the pivot shoe in the jamb where the balance installs. Take a look and compare the specifications of an undamaged part to the image below. Thanks for posting.
