Problem with New Pivot Shoe

hi hope you can help me i replaced the pivot lock shoe and the window wont go up or down it wont move    i locked the shoe like your supossed to i installed the window but when i put the window in place it wont move up or down help

There could be several reasons why your window won't move up or down. The first to come to mind is that the pivot bars aren't properly engaged with the pivot shoe cam. What that means is that when you tilt the sash back in to be used, the cam isn't turning to unlock. If the cam doesn't turn back over, it will remain lock, which would explain why the sash is stuck. That should be the first thing you should check.

Another possibility is that dirt and debris has clogged up the track and is preventing the shoes from moving. Cleaning and lubricating the tracks would be the solution in that case.

Lastly, another common issue is that the shoe you purchased is simply the wrong size for the job at hand and is stuck. You should take extra care to ensure that the replacement is identical to the original.
