Problem with Replacing Lock for Patio Door

I am looking for a replacement lock for a 5500 series American Craftsman sliding glass door. It was installed where the latch appears to hook like a hook or an upside down U. All replacements I see have the latch reversed.

Thanks for contacting SWISCO. Give the 82-218 a look. Compare with your old part and see what you think. If your original lock was installed upside down, it should not be trouble to just flip it over.

Thanks. It does look like the correct lock. I tried to flip what I have over and it looks like the lock switch will not work if it is in that direction. Is this type of lock only made one way?

Yes, I'm afraid it's only made one way. If flipping the mortise lock over won't work, then you can always just flip the keeper over instead. You show your keeper in the third photo and it should be easy enough to flip it.
