I can I know that I'm buying the proper size to work with my Windows. 39-017 seem like the ones I have. However my house was built in 1971? Mine does not have any double holes side by side. One at top, one at bottom and one off to the side

I'm afraid I can't confirm if our 39-017 can work. One of the most important details to identifying this kind of operator is the style of the link arm, which is obscured in your photo. In order to help, I will need you to remove this from the window in its entirety so that I can see that arm.
