Proper Spiral Balance Tip Color

HI:

We have Kinro windows in amodualr home. The Proper Spiral Balance Tip Color--we cn't tell--but the window weigh 24 lbs. Weare guessing it might be red--but does it hurt to move up to heavier duty one--i.e., green? The tube measure 29" and is 3/8 or 5/16 depending on which diameter of the tube one measures.

I would recommend only picking the tip color that matches your sash weight. It is possible to have a balance that is too strong. It won't make your window work better, but would rather hinder its operation. Think of it like Goldilocks: you want a spring strength that is just right.
