Purchasing replacement sprial balances

Hi,
I'm trying to purchase new spiral balances. The old ones I just removed are both white tip. However, the window sash weighs 11.5 lbs. Should I purchase red tip replacement sashes instead? Thanks for your advise.

Yes! If your sashes weigh 11.5 pounds, then Red Tip is definitely the better option. White Tip balances would not be able to support that weight very well.
