Question regarding the stsmp

The balancers I'm replacing have a 3020 stamp on it, but the windows seem heavier than the max 16 pound rating.

Is it ok to safely go up to a 3030 or 3040?

It is possible that the original installers picked the wrong stamp option for your sash weight. It happens all the time, trust me. That said, if there's ever any doubt in these situations, I always recommend weighing the sash on a scale to confirm the best option. That way there's no need to guess.
