Is the exposed metal part of the mechanism detachable/replaceable? it's metal and i would like to replace them with this type of crank

Thank you for contacting us! Are you referring to the white cover? If so, it isn't made to be removed in some instances which may be the case here. With that said, you would need to replace the entire operator.
We'd be happy to help with that but we will need you to upload a photo of the window open so that we can see a clear and full view of the operator's arms.
