REPLACING STRING FOR 15-159

Question

HOW DO I REPLACE THE STRING THAT ATTACHES TO ,MALTA PIVOT SHOE PART # 15-159 ,ANY OR ALL INFOW WILL BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED. I HAVE TEN WINDOWS WITH THIS TYPE OF PIVOT SHOE & STRING THAT ARE TWENTY-SIX YEARS OLD. THANK-YOU JOE

Thanks for posting, Joe. To attach a string to our 15-159 Malta Pivot shoe, you will first need to pull it through the 15-159, then hold the string with locking pliers while you tie the knot. If you lose the string, however, and it shoots back into your balance, you will not be able to retrieve it as the tension is too high. At that point, you'd have to buy a new balance. Be very careful! Always remember: safety first.
