Rail on side of window

Question

When we lift up the window, the rail stays up. We followed directions on how to fix it and got the string to go back in it's place but it keeps doing the same thing. I believe we need a replacement rail (block and Tackle Sash and the plastic ends.

It indeed sounds like you need new channel balances. My recommendation is the S380-33 or S385-33 with the 3230 option. The main difference between these two similar looking parts is the depth of the bottom fitting as shown in the image below. You'll need to measure yours to confirm the best match.
