Rehand Pella Mortise Lock

A quick learner from Richmond, VA says:
I have a pella mortise lock mechanism and need to rehand the latch. I cannot find a video anywhere. I see what may be it, but not sure. It is the 40-191 Mortise Lock.

Any help would be appreciated.

I agree, our 40-191 looks like a great match. This can work on either a left or right hand side door.

A quick learner from Richmond, VA says:
I need to know how to switch it from right to left.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

You just flip the whole mortise over. It's totally symmetrical, top to bottom, so it works the same either way.

A quick learner from Richmond, VA says:
Unfortunately, the lock got switched and I need to change the lock to match door. If I flip, the flat part of the latch is facing the wrong way. What do I need to do to the lock to change which hole it uses to actuate the latch.

I'm not sure that I understand your problem. The top half of the 40-191 is identical to the bottom half. If the flat part is facing the wrong way, then you just flip the whole thing over so that it's facing the right way. Since the top and bottom halves are identical, the only difference is which direction the flat part is facing. Everything else is exactly the same.

If that doesn't solve your problem, then I need you to go into more detail or show me photos of the issue. I just don't understand why flipping it over won't work.
