Hi I have a latch cover like this that needs to removed (the mechanism underneath potentially needs to be replaced). How can I remove it safely?

Hi there!
For our 90-253, the cover snaps on and off, so you would take it off and then unscrew the mechanism underneath. I hope this helps!
