Hello - I need to remove an insect screen latch from an Andersen casement window installed in 1961. I want to take a picture of the latch to send to you, and I need to make sure I am buying the correct latch. Looking at your website, I think the replacement latch I will need is Swisco Product Code #70-226. How do I remove the latch from the screen frame ? Is there a special tool ? I do not want to bend the frame when I remove the latch. Please advise. Thanks. John

Thank you, Casey. I have watched the video, and I will now take the Latch out as described. I will be back to you when I determine, based on the size and configuration, which Latch I will need.

Hello, Casey - Here is my clip, close to your #70-226, but not exact. No dimple or round hole. Size is 1 3/16" wide, and 1 3/8" high. Can you please check your product inventory and recommend what clip you think will work for me.
Thanks.
John

Unfortunately, we could not find your screen clip without the dimple. This makes us think that yours might no longer be available. The closest clip we carry to your measurements would be the 70-226. Take a look and see if it might work for you regardless of the subtle differences. |
Hello, Dave, Sr. -
I have just ordered 3 pairs of Latch #70-226. I will try to make them work as they appear to be quite close in size and design to the original latches in my frames.
Your team has been most helpful.
Thank you.
John
