Removing a Pivot Shoe on an Aluminum Window

Question

Hi. I have to remove the balanced Spring shoes from an old aluminum tilt out window. I have done it before in a vinyl window where I have just cut out. I now see you have window spreaders that would have made it easier lol.but how can I do it in  Is an aluminum window without having to cut? Or can I?

Hello,

The 75-069 jamb spreaders are only meant to be used on vinyl jamb liners. We recommend following the cut-out method shown in the video below. The only difference is that we recommend using heavy-duty snips to make the cutout on an aluminum window. Thanks for posting!
