Replace Coil Balance

Question

Hello, we have a CertainTeed vinyl window that is difficult to open and close.  The balance coil is bent and may not be retracting.  Please advise what replacement parts are neede

Thanks for posting. I am confident that the shoe you would need is the 15-192 pivot shoe. Carefully review and compare the dimensions to confirm that this is the shoe you'll need.

Please be aware, the 15-192 is a modern Certainteed part and may be different than your existing hardware as it may be older. Some customers have reported that the bumps on the face of the 15-192 can interfere with installation, therefore shaving or cutting them off might be necessary.

These shoes are compatible with the S170 Coil Balances along with the S171 coils that you would need to use to stack on top of the S170 coils. To determine which coils you'll need for your sash, you'll need to remove the coils to search for any stamps/marking on the metal that may indicate the weight.
