Replace Truth 30410 rollers

Home Owner from Pennsauken NJ
In trying to replace my sliding door rollers I purchased two Disco 2003-1 from you. Though they fit the opening the wheels cannot be adjusted up enough. Can you suggest a better match? Thanx!

According to our records, you purchased our 81-018 tandem door roller. This is the roller that corresponds to your old stamp of 30410. If they aren't working for you, then it's probably best that we don't rely on that stamp to find a match.

I'd like you to show me a clear picture of the original rollers removed from the door so that we can review them without obstruction. Knowing their dimensions would also be a big help. Thank you!

As you can see, for all intents the items are the same size. They fit the installation hole perfectly. However, the screw flange (correct?) on yours is set lower as shown and the wheels cannot be adjusted high enough for the door to roll. Thanx!

Ah, I understand now. Unfortunately, we won't be able to help with this one. I have these rollers brought to me from time to time and I've never been able to find out any information about them. Over the years I've been forced to conclude that they simply aren't made anymore. I can only tell you that every solution I've ever tried has failed. Our 81-018 cannot replace this with any adaptation I've tried, nor anything my colleagues have tried.

I'm very sorry that we can't point you in the right direction on these. It's been one of those parts that just can't be acquired. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Well, in any case, thank you for the thorough review and answer.

Same problem here. The end screw stamped mounting slots in the roller's main frame are stamped out 0.15 inches too high so that the fully retracted wheels do not line up flush with the end screw mounts. Screw mounts must extend 0.15 inches lower than the bottom of the main frame so wheels will clear the track side guides. Current 81-018 roller end screw brackets are mounted 0.15 too high - flush with the bottom of the main roller frame - and will not allow rollers to clear the track side guides. Disappointed in Swisco's poor engineering and quality control.

I'm sorry to hear that you're disappointed in our service, but it should be noted that we did not design this roller, nor do we manufacture it. We are a third party supplier of replacement parts made by many, many different manufacturers.

Our 81-018 is made by one manufacturer, and the alternative version with the lowered tabs is made by another. They're two different parts made for different applications, so it's not like the 81-018 is defective or anything. I wish we could supply it, but we can only sell what's available to us. This older roller is not available, so there is nothing we can do. I am sorry again for the inconvenience.
