Replace lock

Home Owner from Amarillo TX

The lock on this door would not latch and was loose. I proceeded to remove and it slipped out of my grip and feel inside door.

I need to order a new lock please. As you can see in the photos, I included a picture of the model number of this door.

Can I please order a new lock?

Thank you and God

We can definitely help with this project, yes. Please see our 82-218 mortise lock. Odds are this is the part you're looking for, but I recommend reviewing our dimensions just to be sure. The video below may also be helpful. You can see how we install it without the risk of it falling in the door.

Unfortunately this part doesn't fit. I will return it today however I would like to order another part to fit it. Would it be best I send you the measurements of the hole for the mortise lock? It's probably more around 3-1/2" to 3-1/4".

I'm honestly shocked to hear it didn't fit. I've repaired your exact door countless times before and the 82-218 has always been what I used.

Can you specify exactly what the problem was? Keep in mind that it's designed to have a bit of a tight fit; the 82-218 mortise won't fit in the hole if you try to put it in straight. As shown in the video above, it's necessary to slide it in at an angle and then snap it into place.
