I have watched videos for double hung window pile replacement and am ordering today. however the section in the top of the window (fixed) has darker grey pile and "appears" to be unable to be removed ?? See attached.Suggestions ????
Your 3/16 by 3/16 "window grey pile" seems to be exactly what I need for 12 large, double hung windows, tks for great videos and help on selection of clips and balances.
Also live in dusty Phoenix and even thought trump says we are not experiencing climate change>>> after 25 years here I disagree Soooo what recommendations do you have to minimize dust/heat incursion from sliding patio doors and the few sliding windows. Windows are circa 1994, better-built manufacture. I have cleaned each and re lobed a;; moving parts and still seem to have lots of dust/heat (using a IR heat scanner)

Hello! What I have done in the past while replacing wool pile is this: start by removing the existing pile first. You might have to cut it out to remove it. With the old pile removed, install one leg of the new wool pile in the window groove. Finally, with one leg of the pile base inserted, force the other leg of the pile in with the back of a utility knife. You might also be able to use a small flat-blade screwdriver. However, I found that the back edge of the utility knife works best.
