Replace proper weatherstrip size

Quick Learner from South Lyon MI
I have tried to remove the felt strips that are in the groves but they don't seem to be removable or could the be glued? This window has major ice buildup on top and sides. No doubt that there is warpage but was wondering if I replaced the weatherstripping with a slightly larger size it would help, if possible. If I cut the old out could I replace with new? What are the recommendations on replacement sizes?

Thank you

Hello,

Your weatherstripping resembles either the 58-182 or 58-171. Take a look and compare the dimensions below to yours.

It is possible that the wool pile could be glued in your window, but it could also just be crimped in place to keep it from sliding out. These are two of many possibilities. You would need to remove a piece of the pile in order to determine the backing width and pile height that you need.

As for the warpage you mentioned, getting larger weatherstripping can sometimes make up for it in the short term. Thank you!

Can you tell me what size for the felt weatherstripping from the attached photos. I would like to get a thicker fan size if possible.

Unfortunately, we are not able to make out exact dimensions from photos, especially when it comes to pile height. If you could write out the exact backing width and pile height that you're looking for, we'd be happy to look into this for you. In the meantime, you are welcome to look through our selection here
