Replacement Andersen Slider Door Hardware

Quick Learner from USA

I would PRIMARILY like to replace the brass colored INTERIOR hardware with more modern white or stainless steel colored handle and latch in order to fit in with redecorating.

The locking mechanism still works from the inside, but on the outside although the key turns in the lock, it does nothing to lock or unlock the door (it just spins). I would consider replacing everything depending on price, since we don?t really lock/unlock the slider from the outside. My main concern is the color on the inside and then price.

I have identified potential replacement parts as the Andersen Interior Pull Handle 5 1/2" #88-013 in white and the Andersen Tribeca Thumb Latch Replacement #82-043 in white, but am not sure if this latch will work with my interior lockset. It looks like the screws on both are spaced correctly. The brass latch I currently have looks a lot like your item Andersen thumb latch lock #82-241.

Could you please make some recommendations about what I should do for two cases:

1) Only replace the interior handle and matching latch with a white or stainless steel color

or

2) Replace everything. Please note, the exterior is on the oceanfront and gets a lot of wear from the elements.

Also, the last photo is of a brass colored piece that I don?t know what it is for. Is it necessary? Can it be easily removed, replaced with white or stainless steel color, or painted over?

Thanks for posting! I agree with the hardware you picked out. Regarding the thumb lever, your internal mortise looks like our 82-037. This is actually compatible with both the 82-043 and 82-241. I think you'd be safe going with either.

As for whether or not you should replace everything, it's really up to you. Our 88-014 would be the exterior match for the interior 88-103. If you also wanted the key lock, see our 82-318 left hand lock (determined from the outside looking in). This is compatible with the 82-241. If you decided to go with the 82-043 instead, see our 82-316 instead.
