Replacement Balancer?

Quick Learner from Alabama
I think I need some new replacement balancer for my windows. They still open but someone said if I replace the balancer it won't sound so bad when opening. I think I need the tool to remove also.

Many thanks for your correspondence. Hm, you don't have a tilt-in window, so it is more difficult to check the cause of the noise. You can first spray the tracks above and below the sash with silicone spray. Don't use any oil type or it will collect dirt in the tracks. If that doesn't help, you will need the 75-005 charging tool. Raise the sash up and have someone hold it for you as you hook the tool to the bottom of the spiral. Work the spiral from the sash and pull the spiral down. It will unwind as you do it. Now get some white grease and put it on the spiral, not the track. Now wind the spiral up to the sash and before hooking it to the sash, give the spiral another three clockwise turns. You should feel the spiral build up tension. Now hook the spiral to the sash. If that doesn't work you will need new balances. Let us know and we can help you with this.
