ABC Window Company Balances

Home Owner from Chula Vista, California
Greetings,

I am attempting to replace several broken window balances and need help identifying which balances I need. Using the parts identifier on your website I believe I need the Series 380 channel balance. Please see attached pictures. I also need to know which WEIGHT RANGE to get. The balances currently installed on the windows have no identification numbers on them. The windows were manufactured by a California company named ABC Window company.

The first balance is 15 inches long and 1/2 inch wide and is for a single hung, non-tilt, double pane window which measures 16 3/8 high by 19 1/2 wide

The second balance is 27 inches long and 1/2 inch wide and is for a single hung, non-tilt, double pane window which measures 28 1/2 high by 32 wide.

The third balance is 27 inches long and 1/2 inch wide and is for a single hung, non-tilt, double pane window which measures 28 1/2 high by 43 3/4 wide

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Hello!

To begin, I'd say that this is likely not a Series 380 balance. It looks much more like Series 385, with the larger shoe shown below.

As for the lengths, are those the lengths of the metal channels? You don't want to include plastic in the measurement. Choose Series 385 balances of the proper lengths and then check the charts on our site to see what weight ranges exist for your balance.

The best way to identify the weight of the sash is simply to remove the window sash and weigh it on a scale. This will give you a foolproof answer. If you can't do that, check the metal bar for a stamped code, which may relate to one of SWISCO's weight range options.
