Hello,

Your operator resembles the old-style version of the assembly used by Hope. Take a look at the new style 39-353 and 39-354. This operator is the replacement recommended by the supplier. Review the specifications below and see what you think. Thanks for posting.

Hi Dave:

The actual length of the arm from center of each pivot is 9 1/2 - 9 3/4. The holes for the screws are correct. What about the 39-01 & 39-02?

I'm not sure the mounting hole locations will match the operator you're replacing. Our records indicate that the 39-353 and the 39-354 operators are the best available replacements for the older style Hope operator shown in your photos. The arm length may not be an issue and, if so, you could try adjusting the placement of the track on the sash to compensate. If you decide to give them a try and run into any trouble, our return policy can be found here

Would the 39-001 & 39_002 also be an option? Trying to keep the costs down.

Unfortunately, the mounting holes on the 39-001 and 39-002 do not have the same 4-1/8" hole centers you need. The best options would be the 39-353 and 39-354 to avoid having to modify another type of operator.

Hi Dave: I got my shipment with the two options and the 39-353 & 39-354 are my best option, however the screws that are enclosed are a problem, on the one side of the unit the screwhead is catching the side of the crank unit housing and I am unable to get the screw to line up. Also they should be longer as they barely are entering the window holes. See attached.

I will be ordering 23 more of these and would like to find better screws to attach them.

Thanks,

Bob

The operator comes with a #10-24 X 1/2" long Phillips screw. Unfortunately, we do not carry a longer screw than the one that comes with the operator. You would need to purchase the screws you need from a hardware store in your area. I'd suggest bringing in one of the original screws and the operator to show them. As for the screw head hitting the side of the operator body, you can try filing the side of the operator body or drilling the mounting holes in the operator a little larger to give you some play for the screw head. Just keep in mind that once parts are modified, they can not be returned.
