Replacement Channel Balance

Question

Hi, I have a window sash that has incorrect balances installed. Currently, the sash shoots up anytime the lock is disengaged. The balances installed are stamped 24-6 EL5 CMC 43. However, all the other windows in the house of the same size have balances stamped 26-3 EL5 CMC 43. Which balance should I order for a replacement? I'm thinking the 27" 385 2630 based on the pictures on your site and that the sash is about 15 pounds. Thanks!

If the bottom attachment on your balance measures 1-3/32" deep, I would agree. It sounds like someone put balances with too much spring strength in your window. If all of your windows are the same size, then the S385-27 with a 2630 option would be the way to go. Thank you!
