Replacement Channel Balances

A handy person from Marlton, NJ says:

I have four large Rollyson windows which need their channel balances replaced. The balance markings on one channel balance are "36 4 AN CALDWELL" and the metal measures 37 inches in length. From the pictures they match either Series 380 or Series 385. Which one do you recommend I should order? Also, will the top sash guides 18-123 and 18-124 work with these channel balances? Thank you.

Before we begin with balance Series and sash guide recommendations, we will need to see photos of your existing balance and balance attachments.

The specific shoe combination will be what determines the balance Series.

It appears you'll be able to use the S380-37 Channel Balance (stamp 3640) as a replacement.

Mike, Thank you for your help. My channel balances and top sash guides arrived in record time. I installed them amd all four windows now function properly. The price was right too.

It looks like you have either a Series 351 or Series 390 balance.
The difference between the two balances lies in the shoe.
351
The series 351 channel balance has the 15-002 shoe while the series 390 channel balance has the 15-001 shoe.
The 15-001 shoe is 1/8" larger from front to back.
