Replacement Handel Set

Quick Learner from Half Moon Bay, CA

This is a right pull handle set in off-white, maybe almond. The mounting screws are 3 & 15/16" apart. I am looking for a quality replacement preferably without the locking linkage mechanism. I would prefer the locking knob directly turn the keyhole.

I have another door with a left hand pull that will likely fail the same way soon.

Do you have a suitable replacement?

1 Right Pull in off-white/almond no key on exterior.

1 Left Pull in off-white/almond with a key on exterior.

Thanks,

~Doug

Hi Doug, thank you for posting!

Our 82-030 is the best we can offer that may replace the handle set with the top-mounted thumb lever without adaptation. The reason for this is because both handle sets engage with the mortise using a spindle that's centered between the two screw holes.

What's confusing is that the original handle doesn't look like it has a centered latch since the thumb lever itself is, for whatever reason, mounted above both screw holes. The reality is that when that thumb lever is turned, an internal arm mechanism reaches down the spindle and turns it.

Our 82-030 works the same way but its thumb lever is centered already. It doesn't need that additional (and redundant) arm mechanism. Please also see our 82-310 key lock that can be adapted to the 82-030 handle set for exterior keyed access.
