I believe these are Windsor Windows. Over 20 years old. This winter I tried to open when it was frozen shut and I think a broke something. Maybe off the bottom of the window? It seems to crank OK, but it doesn't close right at the bottom of the window. Did I break a metal bar or something on the bottom that draws the window in when I crank it closed? Can you tell if there are pieces missing?

This issue could either be with the hinge or the operator. The best way to verify is to remove the operator and then try opening and closing the window by hand. If it still hangs up, then you need new hinges. If it works just fine, then you need a new operator.

In all likelihood, it's the operator that's broken. Being able to open fine but then struggling to close is symptomatic of a stripped gear. 

Try the experiment I described and get back to me. If it is the operator, then show me a photo of yours removed and I can check our records to see if we sell a good match.

Thanks Tom. I've done some more digging and it appears there is a small piece that attaches to the bottom of the sash that is connected to a track that keeps the bottom of the window where it needs to be to close snuggly. I took a picture of the part on a different window. I've attached the picture. Perhaps you can see what I need and whether that can be replaced. But that black piece has broken off and so the bottom corner of the window isn't staying where it should as the window closes. That black piece moves along that track as the window is opening and closing. Does that make sense? Thanks.

Gotcha, thanks for checking that. What you're showing here is the slider on the hinge. These aren't sold separately so you will unfortunately need to replace the entire hinge assembly.

I believe our 36-048 will work for you, but only if the base track is 10" long and only if you replace the top and bottom at the same time. As long as those criteria are met I'm confident that it will work for you.
