Replacement Latch for Sliding Door

A from Ocean City NJ says:

Hello,

CAn you recommend a part to replace this broken latch? As you can see, someone forced the door when it was locked and broke the frame. Do you have any type of part that could be used to make the latch area larger?

Thank you

Bob

Tom from SWISCO responded:

I would repair it by using the 82-227 along with some small "molly bolts" which you can get at your local hardware store. When the 82-227 mortise latch wears out then purchase the 82-243 stainless steel version. I believe repairing the door frame is the priority at this point.
