Looking for a replacement bar for a window balancer that is 30 inches long and stamped with "29 5 DR CALDWELL". It's the rope/wire pulley that is broken. is it possible to purchase just the replacement rope/wire?
Thank you so much! Awesome feature!

We appreciate your feedback! Please see if our S385-30 channel balance with a 2950 option could be a good match for you.

Thanks Mike! Do you know if I can purchase and replace just the wire/rope that's snapped? Or do I need to replace the whole balance?

I am afraid not. It is not possible to replace the pulley or cord. It's best advised to replace the whole balance.

Thanks again Mike. the S385-30, 2950 option happens to be out of stock. Would the 2960 work?
THanks,
Tim

I don't think so. You don't want to get an option that doesn't match your sash weight. The 2960 would be too strong. You can always weigh your sash on a scale to be 100% sure.

Hey guys, thanks again for all of the help! I ended up ordering two of the 2950 option. They fit fine but the window is a bit "heavy" to open. Would I be able to resolve that by using the 2960 or even higher?

It's possible, but I would recommend you weight your sash on a scale and refer to the chart on the S385-30 store page. That's the only way to know what will work beyond any doubt. It's not a good idea to estimate the weight, as it's entirely possible for a spring to be too strong. Instead of the window being difficult to open, it would be difficult to close, or even drift up on its own.
