The only marking on the balances was a 4 on the coil spring. These units are approximately 1-3/8"wide, 1/2" deep and 3-15/16 in height. These are installed on A-1 Wholesale double hung windows that are 27-1/4 x 56-1/4 inches in 10/15/2003. Several windows balances are not working and any help is appreciated. My son recently purchased a house and I would like to fix the windows.

Hello,
Your photos resemble the 15-180 Pivot Shoe, which uses the Series 190 Coil Balance springs. Based on the 4 stamped on the original coils, you'll need the S190-440. See the related parts shown on this page to compare to our original hardware. Thanks for posting!
