Replacement Truth Dual Arm Window Crank- model #?

Quick Learner from NYC
Hi there,

Trying to replace my Truth dual arm window crank. My number is 40471 (see pic) but cant find that replacement anywhere .. the arm also says 30841L and 31229L(1 is left and one is from right set) (I need both left and right side units)..

One question...so when I open window fine..but when when I go to close..the crank just unscrews out .. is it just not catching the gears ?..because its worn? I don't see any wear ?

Anyway..please let me know which unit is the replacement..and does the other number I provided give the necessary arm length info so you know how long the arm is?
I know truth has over 20 replacement units (single, dyad, and double) ..just don't want to get the wrong ones and it be off by an inch or something minute...

Thanks

Drew

If the worm gear comes out when you crank it, the gears  have stripped and you'll need to replace the operator. It's hard to tell what you have without seeing the whole mechanism or knowing your dimensions, but start by looking at our 39-031 and 39-032. Carefully compare our dimensions to yours to confirm the best match.

Yes...it opens the window in one direction..then when I go to close it, the worm gear comes out and it doesn't grab...That's why I wanted to replace the whole mechanism... I had figured the part numbers would be all needed to know replacement part..but I guess I will have to measure the arms...

Yes, measuring the arms is the best way to confirm. The numbers on the hardware can be helpful, but in my experience they can be misleading, too. It's always better to go by the design and size of the hardware instead of just following whatever number is printed on them.

I measured the long arm. It is 9 1/4 inches.. Can you confirm the correct replacement part #. Thx

I'm afraid we don't have anything in that size. Are you making sure to measure your arm like how we measure ours? We don't just measure the arm, but we measure from the tip of the arm to the center of the middle installation screw in the base.
