Replacement Window Balances

I recently moved into a house and all the windows balances do not work and/or are missing. The owners chose to give us a credit instead of fixing them. I have attached the pictures to show what I have, they seem to be the original to the house, which was built in 2004. The only marking I can find on the balance is marked with "28B USB" I'm hoping you can help me identify what part(s) I need. The majority of my windows are 35 x 60 and I have 11 of those windows. I also have one window that is 50 x 60. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I believe you can use our Series 380 channel balances in place of yours. Take a look and let us know what you think. Confirm the 'depth' measurement of your bottom shoe matches up to ours. You will also need to measure the balance from metal to metal, excluding the nylon fittings, to determine the length you need. With your stamping not matching up to any of ours, please weigh your sash on a scale and refer back to the sash weight chart listed on the product page.

It looks the measurement for metal to metal is 29" and the bottom shoe measures 1". I weighed the sash and the windows seem to be 19 lbs. for the windows that are 35 x 60 and for the window that is 51 x 60 it weighs 29 lbs. Based on what I am seeing it looks like I will need options 2830 and 2850. Is that correct? Thank you again for your assistance.

Yes, those would be the correct stamp options for the weights of your sash. It sounds like you are well on your way. Enjoy your replacement and let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.

It looks like the pieces I ordered are the right size, but have the wrong clip to install them. I'm attaching pictures for you to reference. When I attempt to install, I am unable to move the balance as it shows in the video. Is there a new clip I can use to replace the clip or do I need to return everything and get a completely different item? Thanks in advance.

I see what you mean. It looks like the balance manufacturer installed the clip on the cord and didn't turn it around when completed. Fortunately, the solution is easy: you can simply turn it around. I recommend using needle nose pliers. Grab the goose neck of the clip, pull the clip a few inches and turn the clip around so you can install the balance. Then, gently let the clip retract back into the pulley. Don't just let go of it or else it'll snap back and potentially break.
