Replacement balance

Hi,

I have these double hung window and very hard to open/close. Currently there are two spiral balances on each side but can't tell their length. The sash is about 58(w)x36(h). Is ot possible to replace with single spiral balance on each side and or replace with other counter balances that make it easier to close /open as it's a very heavy window

Thanks for reaching out to us. To determine the proper length for your replacement balances, you will have to remove the old ones from the window and measure the outer tube. It sounds like your window was designed to use two balances per side so we recommend sticking with the original setup.
