Replacement balancer

A home owner from USA says:

I have a milgard single hung non-tilt window. The balancers bind and pop out of the frame, and have damaged frame slightly.

Here is the info:

  • Length: 25 1/2 inches
  • Width: 1/2 inch
  • Bottom shoe depth: 1 inch
  • Top shoe is: 19-005
  • Weight: 25 pounds.

Should I go to 19-24 pounds, because when new or old it takes all your weight to pull window down to latch. What length should I order? 25 or 26 inch. Mine is 25 1/2 inches measuring only metal channel as described.

I believe I need two S380- length - 2440.

What do you suggest?

Thank you,

Stuart

Thanks for your patience during this busy summer, Stuart. Our S380-25 won't replace this balance. Yours is a special type that has to be custom made.

Thanks to you helpful pictures, however, we have all the information we need to get started. I just need one last detail: can you tell me how many you need? Once I know that, I'll email you an order link and price quote for the requested quantity.

Oh, one last note before I forget. Your metal channel should be 25-5/8" long, not 25-1/2". I would double check just to be sure.
