Replacement balances

Contractor from North Brookfield, MA. 01535

These are channel balances I need to replace. They are stamped 27-10 (therefore 28" long) but have a pivot shoe I have never seen before. The channel it fits in appx. 1" wide. The piece on the sash is a (half round??) piece of plastic, again something I have never seen before. There is a rectangular opening in the frame where a hooked piece of aluminum holds the balance in place. They are tilt windows, I just couldn't take the sashes out by myself for better pictures. They are aluminum sashes and frames. TIA. Bill

Hi there Bill.

Thanks for reaching out to us. This reminded me of the Series 751 since your balance uses a knife lock shoe, but you'll notice this has a ribbed channel. Yours is squared off (plain) which is an important difference. We may be able to help with this but we'll need more information. Can you remove an undamaged knife lock shoe from the window track and show us some photos? We will also need you to weigh the window sash on a scale since your stamp is odd.
