Replacement balances needed

A handy person from Sacramento, CA says:
Hi!
I'm discovering just how specific and complicated it can be to replace balances in my new home.
I've included pictures of the markings, top and bottom shoe which are definitely both winged. The channel is 9/16" but it sounds like that's's considered 1/2" in the industry. The channel depth is 5/8". The channel edges are hemmed.
The balance marked 26-5 is definitely 27" long and is, I believe, weighted for 26-30 #'s.
The balance marked 30-4 is definitely 31" long and is, I believe, weighted for 23-28 #'s.
I'm having difficulty nailing down the size of the top and the shoe. They are the same size for both balances. I believe the bottom shoe is 1-3/32" deep and 15/16" wide form the tips of each wing.
The top looks to be 15/16" wide form the tips of each wing, and 11/16" deep.
I'm thinking 385 looks to be correct?
In regards to stamps, for the 27" I would use 2650, and for the 31" I would use 3040?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks for writing in, and thanks for such thorough information! Your analysis sounds dead-on: if the shoe is 1-3/32" deep for both balances, then you need the S385-27 with a stamp option of 2650, and the S385-31 with a stamp option of 3040. Let us know if you have any other questions.
