Replacement base for crank

Handy Person from Peterborough Ontario canada

Hello, I have added pictures of the parts I need but once I add them, I cannot seem to get back to this webpage. If you could send me an email, I could send you pictures of what I need. This is for a casement window and the casing I believe needs to be replaced because the threads that the crank mechanism screws into to be held in place are stripped.

Thanks, Glenn.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Looks like the worm gear stripped out of your operator base. These aren't meant to come out, and once they do it's not possible to repair, as you suspected. You will need an all new operator entirely.

It's tough to make out the design of your operator from these photos but the design reminds me of our 39-140 or 39-083, depending on the "elbow to elbow" measurement. That's how the manufacturer sizes these, so that should be the first thing you check.

Thanks Tom it's 16 " and I note there are 4 screws holding the unit in place are underneath this part of the window. I'd need to drill holes through the wood frame to access these. If the replacement unit has the same 4 mounting screws in there a template to drill those holes?
Thanks Glenn

PS what would the total cost be with shipping etc?

I don't believe drilling will be necessary in this case. Your old operator has the same base that Truth used for our 39-140, so the holes should line up. You can even use the old screws. In either event, there is unfortunately no template made available with this operator. If drilling is necessary, you would have to do it the old fashioned way.

As for cost, you can see the full price breakdown for the 39-140 on its store page, linked in this thread. Shipping cost will depend on what delivery option you select during checkout, since we offer multiple options.

Thanks Tom. You probably can't see it but the lower part of the wooden frame blocks access to the mounting screws. Thanks for your help.
