Replacement channel balance

A handy person says:
I had purchased some sash in 2019 and one of them ended up snapping today. I wanted to order a replacement and wanted some help picking the right one.

The balances did feel a bit tight and I'm always worried it will snap and I'll end up banging the window shut with all the force I need to apply.

I'm attaching the pictures of the snapped part.

Thanks

Hello,

With this combination of attachments, you could have either an S380-27 or S385-27 channel balance. You’ll need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment.

Based on the 26 5 stamped on your metal channel, you'd also need 2650 spring strength options for your replacement balances. With that being said, I would recommend weighing your sash and following the chart below the balance product description to confirm that the strength option you choose has the correct weight range to support the window sash.

Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thank you. It ended up being the S380-27.
