Hey there,

Thanks for writing in to us! There is a chance that we can supply you with the replacement channel balances you need. However, to confirm the correct replacement balances, I'll need to see of photo of all of the attachments this balance interacts with, that could be left behind in the window, or that could be attached to the top and bottom.

If there is a hook at the top of the balance, I'll need to see the space in the window channel where the hook connects.

Please also include a photo of the stamp from the metal channel.

Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have in the meantime.

Interesting that one of the existing units appears to be galvanized metal and the other stainless. Note also different numbering. Home was built in 1996, and these balancers have not been changed out.

Thanks for the photos. Although, I'll still need to see the other requested photos to properly identify your balances. Are you able to include photos of the top and bottom attachments?

Given the difference in the stamps, it would be a good idea to obtain the exact weight of the sash. The 27DS 33 stamp would suggest that the sash should weigh 33lbs, while the 2730 stamp, indicates that it should weigh 13 to 19lbs; which is a vast difference.

This is likely what caused the balances to become damaged to begin with.

This is getting crazy. "Weighing the sash"? Sorry, don't know to what you are referring. And the balancers weigh well less than a pound. The last set I get from your company for other windows in the house (same system longer balancers for larger windows) required a few photos as you requested but nothing about sash weight. I'm confused.

When identifying balances, we review them as a "case-by-case" basis. When you reached out to us previously, the photos may have provided all of the information needed to properly identify the balances. Unfortunately, that is not the case in this instance. I see that you previously purchased the Series 351 Channel Balance. Do these balances have those same exact attachments; wingless and with a 1" shoe? You have not provided the photo of the top attachment, so I can only make an educated guess.

The sash is the part of the window that moves up and down in the window channel when opening and closing the window; most refer to this as the window, however it is the sash.

Balances are specifically made to hold the weight of this sash, so that it does not slam down when the window is opened. That said, the sash weight directly correlates to the stamp on the balance; it denotes the weight range a balance can support.

As mentioned above, there is a vast difference in the weight capacity of the stamps you have provided photos of. To reiterate, the 27DS 33 stamp would suggest that the sash should weigh 33lbs, while the 2730 stamp, indicates that it should weigh 13 to 19lbs.

If these balances are from the same window, I'll need to know the exact sash weight to determine which of those stamps is the correct one; does it weigh 33lbs or does the weight fall between 13 to 19lbs? The weight of the balance itself cannot determine this information.

I hope this helps!

Hello; nice holiday I trust.

The sash weight is 21lbs.

Are we getting closer?

Hey there,

I hope you had a nice holiday as well and thanks for the photos! Your balances do appear to be the S351-28 but to be sure, you'll want to double check that the depth of your bottom shoe is 1". Since the sash weighs 21lbs, you'll need to select the 2740 stamp option which can support a sash weighing 19 to 26 lbs.
