I bought the 40-123 Key Cylinder with Thmbturn, Kwickset, but that cylinder would fit a door that is 2-1/2" thick.
I need a cylinder for a Pella storm door that is about 1-1/4" thick. It is okay if the cylinder protrudes about 1/4".
I am about 240 miles from the house where I'll do the repair, so I can't improve on the photos in the short term.

As long as the key cylinder operates correctly, I don't think the cylinder protruding out 1/4" should be a problem.

The key cylinder I got would protrude by about 1-1/4". (It is replacing one--about an inch shorter--that already protruded 1/4".)

I took a look at our 40-199 handle set, which looks similar to the one in your photos. I was able to match up the 40-123 key cylinder to the one in the handle and it is the same length. Could you show us some photos of the key cylinder you received next to the existing one from your old handle?

Thanks for the follow-up. I'll take a side-by-side photo next time I'm in Tennessee. Have a good one!
